Anti-Spam Coordination Team (ASCT) of Internet Society of China (ISC) called the meeting with its team members in Beijing on Dec. 24th, 2004, deciding to declare the 7th List of Mail Servers Sending Spam to the public. The list involved 70 IP addresses sending Spam to China during Oct. 20th to Nov.20th 2004, which includes 52 from abroad, 11 from mainland, China and 7 from Taiwan, China. All the members will endeavor consistently to improve the action of anti-Spam both in technology and management in countering Spam.
In the meeting, Mr. Li Yuxiao, director of ASCT, introduced the preparatory work of launching the cooperation with Spam-related organizations from Australia and Korea, holding the wish to keep a healthy communication among the three countries’ ISPs and e-mail service providers and to promote the Spam management. The members appreciated this cooperation as a necessity, which will provide a help to dealing with Spam promptly, ensuring the regular e-mail communication on Internet.
Meanwhile, the members also showed their support to ASCT as the representative of e-mail service industry of China to join the ‘London Action Plan on International Spam Enforcement Cooperation’, aiming at fighting against with Spam through global cooperation.
In order to standardize and push forward the anti-Spam product market, improve the quality of anti-Spam product and strengthen the competence of manufacturers on information security, ASCT drafted a ‘Standard on Testing the Anti-Spam Products Function’ and asked for suggestions. China Telecom, China Netcom and other members introduced their experience on countering Spam.
