2006

l On April 13rd, 2006, ISC held the 2006 Secretary General Working Conference for provincial Internet Societies, setting up a mutual cooperation mechanism jointly to reject illegal information and Spam.

l  On April 12th, 2006, ISC and provincial Internet Societies appealed to 2,600 members, SPs and netizens for the call of “Civilized Online Behavior”.

l On March 21st, 2006, ISC released the first survey status of 2006 Anti-Spam.

l On February 28th, 2006, Ministry of Information Industry (MII), State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) and Internet Society of China (ISC) jointly launched ‘2006 Internet Sweep Day ’ with the theme of ‘Sweep Internet Spam, Protect Consumers Rights’.

l On February 28th, 2006, the Copyright Union of ISC was awarded the title of '2005 National Copyright Protection Model Unit' by the National Copyright Administration.

l On February 21st, 2006, Ministry of Information Industry (MII) initiated a program named ‘Sunshine Green Internet Project’ and published a regulation targeting at countering Spam during the activity. ISC set up a 'Complaint and Handling Center on Emails' www.anti-spam.cnand released the contact point for reporting(TEL:+86-10-12321; Email: abuse@anti-spam.cn).

l On February 15th, 2006, accompanying by the officials of French Embassy in China, French ARECEP officials visited ISC, exchanging ideas on the issues of VoIP, anti-Spam and Internet related policies.

l On January 23rd, 2006, officials from American Embassy in China and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) visited ISC, exchanging and communicating on the issues of network copyrights legislation and international enforcement.

l On January 8th, 2006, the “Cartoon 2006 Spring Festival Gala” hosted by ISC broadcasted through the Internet.

2005

l On December 22nd, 2005, officials of French Embassy in China visited ISC. Both sides exchanged on the issues of network copyrights protection and the administration of P2P application

On Dec 9th, 2005, Anti-Spam of Internet Society of China (ASISC) was founded based on the basis of 'ISC Anti-Spam Coordination Team', which is the furthest representative framework of the industry.
l  From Nov 16th-18th, 2005, ISC led a delegation to participate the Second Phase of WSIS in Tunis, during which hosted a forum with the theme 'Governance for Development' as a parallel event.
l On Oct 31st, 2005, China Broadband P2P Promotion Alliance was founded, which was the third branch organization under Internet Self-Discipline Committee.
On Sep 3rd, 2005, two standing working committees under ISC, Internet Marketing Committee, Internet Application and Innovation Committee, were founded at the China Internet Conference 2005.
l On Sep 2nd, 2005, ISC signed the ‘Memorandum of Understanding between Internet Society of China and Broadband Association of Japan’ in Beijing.
l Form Sep 1st-3rd, 2005, China Internet Conference 2005 hosted by ISC was held at Beijing International Convention Center. The theme of the conference was ‘Expand the Regional Cooperation, Grasp the Industrial Opportunity’. One of the highlights in this session’s conference was that it was built on the first but in-depth cooperation among people from mainland, Taiwan and Hong kong.
l On Aug 2005, the third volume of China Internet Development Report was published. It was jointly edited by ISC and China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC).
l On Mar.15th, 2005, the Wireless Information Service Professional Committee of ISC initiated ‘SMS 3?15’ activity to protect the consumers’ right of ordering and canceling SMS.
l On Apr 26th, 2005, ISC organized the first 'National Email Server Administrator Training Program' was held in Beijing's Tsinghua University.
 lOn Feb.28th, 2005, ISC signed the ‘MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Co-operation on Anti-Spam Efforts between Internet Society of China and Internet Industry Association (Australia)’ with the Internet Industry Association (Australia)’ in Sydney. It showed the two countries’ determination to fight Spam and hoping to keep normal communications and facilitate the development of email industry through the cooperation.

l On Feb.23th, 2005, ISC led a delegation paying a visit to Chinese Taiwan for industry exchange, negotiation and cooperation. It was the first time for ISC to launch cross-strait exchange activity in Taiwan areas since ISC’s foundation, in which visited the industry organizations like TCA (Taipei Computer Association) and negotiated with Taiwan’s famous enterprises like Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd.
l On Feb. 3rd, 2005, ISC Announced 1st Survey Result on ‘Public Email Users’ Content Index of ISC’, in which showed the content index of 7.21 to domestic email service, satisfactory in general. Most email users showed great support to the ‘Guide for Web-based Public Email Service of Internet Society of China (ISC)’, according to the Result.
l 'China Network Copyright Alliance' of Internet Industry Self-discipline Committee of ISC was founded in Beijing On Jan. 28th, 2005.

2004
l The Internet Industry Self-discipline Committee of Internet Society of China (ISC) was founded on Dec. 31st, 2004, replacing the Responsibility & Ethics Committee as one of the regular work committees of the Standing Committee of ISC.
l  Internet Society of China (ISC) had won the title of 'National Advanced Folk Organization' awarded by Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC (MCA) at the Great Hall of the People on December 10th.
l China Internet Conference 2004 (Internet 2004 for short) and Asia-Pacific Digital Technology Expo (Digital 2004 for short) hosted by Internet Society of China (ISC) was held in Beijing from September 1st to September 3rd, 2004. At the 10th anniversary of Internet in China and in welcoming the new opportunities for development, with the theme of ‘Building a Prosperous and Trusted Internet’, following the principles of ‘Taking Opportunities for Innovation and Development, Making Practical Cooperation’, the Conference explored deep into the developments, industrial patterns and market changes in China’s Internet over the past ten years, which provided a comprehensive understanding of technological trends in application and opportunities for cooperation and development for China’s Internet industry in the coming ten years.
l The second session of Congress of Internet Society of China (ISC) was held at Beijing International Convention Center on August 31st, 2004. The Congress selected the second session of Board of ISC, which was composed of 90 members. Two Regulations (‘Regulation for Organizational Administration of Internet Society of China’,  ‘Regulation for Membership Administration of Internet Society of China’) and the amendment of By-law were all reviewed and passed at the Congress.

 
   
 


2003
●The 2nd Internet Conference of China and the 1st Congress of Internet Society of China (ISC) was held at Beijing International Convention Center on Dec. 5th—7th, 2003.
●On Aug. 15th, 2003, the Anti-Spam Coordination Group of ISC summoned an Anti-Spam seminar in Beijing, all the parties to the seminar exchanged their experience on how to deal with Spam with policy and law, management and technological measures. ISC appealed to solve the Spam problem from the aspects of legislation, administrative management, technological solutions and international cooperation. This was the first special anti-Spam seminar in China, opening a new page in China’s anti-Spam campaign.
●On Aug. 8th, 2003, the first comprehensive large-scaled document in the form of research paper, Report on the Development of Internet in China (2002 Vol.) co-compiled by ISC and was published.

2002
●On Nov. 27th, 2002, ISC signed ‘Memorandum of Understanding on CJK internet Alliance’ with the concerned parties form Japan and South Korea.
●From Nov.25th to 27th, 2002, the 1st Internet Conference of China-----2002 General Meeting of ISC was held in Shanghai International Convention Center. The theme of the Conference was ‘Internet Application----Calling for Innovation’. The Conference invited about 1,000 experts and professionals in the field and 97 experts gave lectures on the 14 special Internet-related topics putting forward in the Conference.
●On May 1st, 2002, the accountable person of ISC issued an official statement to Xinhua News Agency, expressing ISC’s opposition to any network attack brought by anybody with any reason.
●On March 26th, 2002, ISC announced ‘Public Pledge of Self-regulation and Professional Ethics for China Internet Industry’, and held the contract signing ceremony at Great Hall of the People. By the end of 2002, more than 1,200 online enterprises had acceded to the pact.
●From February to November 2002, ISC established the Network and Information Security Committee, the Responsibility and Ethics Committee, the Popularization and Dissemination Committee, the Policy and Resource Committee, The Academic Committee and the Anti-Spam Coordination Group.

2001
●In July 2001, ISC successfully hosted the 5th Seminar on Internet as well as Exhibition in such field together with the Ministry of Information Industry and China Association for Science and Technology.
●In June 2001 and June 2002, ISC organized two delegations to attend the 11th and the 12th International Internet Conference.
●Internet Society of China was established on May 25th, 2001. The inaugural meeting, which also served as the first congress of ISC, was held in Beijing, at which the regulations of ISC were enacted, and the first chairman, vice-chairman, executive directors, Board members and secretary general of ISC were elected.
