President Shang Bing: The Digital Economy Promotes High-Quality Development, Integrated Innovation Contributes to The Development of Cyberspace

On May 24, 2021, the Symposium on China Internet Development Strategy and the 20th Anniversary Symposium of Internet Society of China was held in Beijing. The theme of the symposium was “Digital Economy promotes High-quality Development and Integrated Innovation Contributes to Internet Power”. Shang Bing, President of Internet Society of China, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.


The year 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the start of a new journey to comprehensively build a modern socialist country, Shang said. Standing at a new historical starting point, China’s Internet development should meet the needs of The Times, shoulder development responsibilities, jointly meet risks and challenges, overcome difficulties, and jointly promote the healthy and sustainable development of Internet industry. At the meeting, he put forward four suggestions on the development of the industry: firstly, to promote the use of construction, accelerate the promotion of digital intelligence. We will carry out 5G network construction, continue to improve IPv6 network service capabilities, accelerate the deployment of emerging industries such as the industrial Internet and big data centers, and do a good job in digital and intelligent upgrading of traditional infrastructure to further accelerate the process of digital and intelligent development in China. Secondly, to conduct independent innovation to enhance core competitiveness. In response to the key core problems and weak links in industrial development, all sectors of industry, academia, research and application must form a joint force to achieve innovative breakthroughs in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum information, integrated circuits, and network security, and strive to improve China’s technological innovation and core technology capabilities, the modernization level and improvement of the industrial chain and supply chain. Thirdly, to deepen integration and build a new industrial ecosystem. Strengthening the cooperation of the upstream and downstream industry chain, explore the vertical industry law of development, promote Internet and industry, agriculture, health care, education, transportation and so on various areas of further integration, promote the development of advanced manufacturing industry cluster innovation, build various of new ecological industry, the impetus of the development of China’s economic and social high quality new growth engine. Fourthly, to lead Internet benefit the people and bridge the digital divide. Adhere to the people-centered principle, to further increase the intensity of Internet welfare, conduct the network recruitment, poverty alleviation, Information Accessibility construction for the aging, improve the public service and social management in the field of digital intelligent level, further safeguard the personal information and data security of the country, to improve people’s happiness and security.


Mr. Shang Bing pointed out that in the future, we should seize and make good use of the strategic opportunity period of China’s development, actively adapt to the needs of the industry, clarify development ideas with a long-term and strategic perspective, strengthen weaknesses, promote integration, cooperation and innovative development. It is expected that Internet Society of China will continue to play its role as a bridge, actively build a platform for exchanges and communication between the government and enterprises, provide reference for government departments, guidance for the development of the industry and the enterprises.
