ISC Set Up Against Unsolicited Mobile Short Message Alliance

Internet Society of China (ISC) set up the Against Unsolicited Mobile Short Message Alliance on July 18, aiming at making further efforts to wipe up the Spam message.the latest move to address the long-time headache for the country"s 574 million-plus mobile phone users.

The Chairperson of ISC, Madam Hu Qiheng said reaffirmed the association"s committment to promote the industrial development with joint efforts from the industry and called for continuous self-discipline initiatives through which seeking for better solution on Spam governing.   


Ongoing meeting, more than 40 SPs had signed the ISC"s self-discipline pact on against unsolicited mobile short message. The SPs included China Mobile, China Unicom, China Netcom, China Telecom and other top portal websites as Sina.com, Tencent etc.


According to the ISC guideline on text message service released in the meeting, message senders should first get the recipient"s consent before sending commercial messages. Meanwhile, an easier used reporting software AM321(www.am321.cn)was issued for Internet user to report spam message.
