ISC Researched and Investigated on Internet-based Remote Services Program in Sanmen County

Led by Vice President Mr. GAO Xinmin, Internet Society of China (ISC) organized a research team to pay a visit to Sanmen County, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province on Feb 21st, 2009, researching and investigating how local peasants make advantage of Internet-based remote education program to improve their lives.    

The "Blog Village of New Peasant" (www.xnmblog.com), an online blog website, was set up in 2007 by an Internet-based remote education program in Sanmen County, it had not only assisted local peasants to open personal blogs, but also offered knowlege including Internet and farming. More than 900 local peasants, planters, and farmers had opened their blogs in this website to introduce thier products or exchange farming skills. The visitor per day has reached 100 thousand. 

Mr. DING Kefei, a farmer who earned his living mainly by steamed bread who was the first one in Sanmen County opened blog in the "Blog Village of New Peasant" website. He would never imagine that the Internet changed his live. Since Mr. DING ofen posted photoes of how he make the steamed bread and showed his excellent craft, his good reputation had attracted more and more netizens through the Internet and blog. Now the Kefei-made steamed bread has become a hot brand and help him get richer.

Vice President Mr. GAO suggested the County make a sound informatization plan, enhance integration of resources, and improve the website services so as to offer effective services to the peasants.
