The 2025 World Internet Conference (WIC) Wuzhen Summit kicked off in Wuzhen in east China's Zhejiang Province on Nov 7th.
In the morning of Nov 8th, the Global Development Initiative Digital Cooperation Forum was held in the 2025 WIC event. The forum was co-hosted by Cyberspace Administration of China, and the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, and co-organized by Internet Society of China (ISC), and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.
Mr. LIU Dong, Vice President of ISC, Director of China Future Internet Engineering Center, delivered a keynote at the forum addressing the AI Agent Internet and IPv6.
He pointed out that the transition from the next-generation Internet to the Agent Internet will be an "Evolution", where AI Agents will become native citizens of the network. The future Internet will serve as the foundation of an intelligent civilization, ushering in a new phase of digital civilization. The Agent Internet is not merely "AI going online," but a deep integration of network, data, and AI. The network provides the infrastructure for connectivity and computation, data offers the basis for intelligent cognition and decision-making, while AI endows systems with the ability to understand the world and execute tasks. These three elements reinforce each other, forming the core paradigm of a new generation of digital infrastructure. To support such a vast and dynamic Agent network, a unified, trustworthy, and verifiable technical architecture is essential. IPv6 is the practical path and core foundation for the Agent Internet.
