2025 China–Korea Internet Cooperation Forum Held in Seoul

On 12 November, the "2025 China–Korea Internet Cooperation Forum”jointly organized by the Internet Society of China (ISC) and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), took place in Seoul, Korea. With the theme "Digital-Intelligence Connectivity with Security”, the forum focused on collaboration and future development for the Internet industy.


Chen Jiachun, Vice President and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the ISC, Lee Sang-joong, President of KISA, and Lee Jeong-ryeol, Secretary-General of the Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) of Korea, delivered opening remarks. The agenda consisted of two sessions: sharing national practices on personal-data protection, and in-depth exchanges on "Digital-Intelligence Connectivity with Security”.


Chen noted that the ISC and KISA have built solid cooperation in personal-data protection and forged a distinctive path of mutual learning and win-win results. Looking ahead, she called for closer mutual recognition of technical standards, orderly circulation of data elements, joint creation and sharing of application scenarios, and co-buliding an open, transparent, inclusive and equitable governance system. 


Dai Wei, Deputy Secretary-General of ISC, deliered a keynote on "Collaborative governance of personal-data protection”, Lee Jeong-ryeol presented the new guidelines on the application of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act to foreign-invested enterprises. 


Speakers from Chinese companies including Alibaba, iFLYTEK Korea Branch and RealAI, together with Korean experts from MINWHO Law Firm, Sungkyunkwan University and Hanyang University, were invited to gave themed speeches at the forum.
