On January 7, the 2026 (16th) China Internet Industry Annual Conference, hosted by the Internet Society of China (ISC), was held in Beijing.

In her opening speech, Chen Jiachun, Vice President and Executive Deputy Secretary-General of ISC, pointed out that we are standing at a critical juncture in the formulation and planning of the "National 15th Five-Year Plan". The wave of digital technologies reshaping the industrial landscape is surging more vigorously than ever, and the opportunities brought by the in-depth advancement of the "Artificial Intelligence +" initiative have arrived. She put forward three viewpoints: first, to consolidate the "main engine" of technological innovation, enabling technology to truly become the primary driving force for industrial upgrading; second, to deepen the "main battlefield" of integrated application, promoting the overall improvement of the intelligence level of the industrial chain; third, to jointly build a healthy and orderly "new ecosystem", ensuring that the Internet development benefit all people more equitably, safely, and sustainably.

At the conference, the "Top 10 Events Shaping China's Internet Industry Development in 2025" (https://www.isc.org.cn/article/27563041366863872.html) were released, along with the results of the 9th Software and Information Service Industry Annual Cases, which cover case types such as ecosystem collaborative innovation enterprises, innovative management units, innovative products, and innovative solutions, demonstrating the industry's innovative vitality and practical achievements.

The launching ceremony of the 2026 (3rd) "Golden Light Cup" China Internet Innovation Competition was held at the conference. This year's competition has set up 19 tracks, covering cutting-edge fields such as data elements, AI+ innovative applications, digital government, and 6G/B6G wireless communication AI. The online application channel for the competition will officially open on January 20.
